The water quality has to be adapted to the customer requirements in water treatment for process water. Quality parameters like content of salt, total organic compound (TOC) or microbiological requirements. These demands guide to a flexible choice of the right pre and post treatment of the process water.

The expectations on the quality between process and feed water differ a lot.
In the industrial generation of process water there a different sources of the feed water. To achieve the quality for process water in all cases typically water softening, filtration, sedimentation or demineralization are required.
Typical process steps like reverse osmosis RO or ion exchanger can only follow after an optimum feed water treatment. Because cloudy materials have to be removed in advance. Therefore we use flocculation and high efficient flotation or ultrafiltration for achieving the high water quality for following process steps.
Beside removing of particles, deferrization, demanganization and TOC reduction are major points in process water treatment. The local feed water parameters require an adapted and flexible strategy for the process and a wide knowledge which is owned by QWAIR.
We offer pretreatment as well as the treatment of waste water. A pretreatment is recommended in case the size of a thermal separation would be uneconomical and by pretreatment and concentration the size could be reduced. Further it is possible to remove problematic ingredients from the waste water directly during pretreatment.

The liquid solutions are divided into a purified and preconcentrated fraction. The purified fraction which is reduced in volume and cleaned from disturbing ingredients is can be fed into a reduced throughput thermal treatment for further purification.
The liquid waste water/the liquid waste product/effluent water is evaporated continuously in our evaporator below the boiling point. The waste water/effluent water can be concentrated up to pumpability. This can be a critical economical advantage. The required heat is taken from the condenser. In case further heat is required it taken from residual heat or generated by a boiler, a heat pump or a combined heat and power unit. Hereby an almost optimum energy efficiency could be reached. In the condenser the transfer of the purified water from gas to liquid takes place. The required cooling energy is taken from the waste water feed. The concentration which is barely pumpable leaves the evaporator.
In case of a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) process a further process follows where the concentration is inspissated. In most cases the concentration of the waste water is a starting point for recovery of the resources.
